Learning something new is as simple as finding the foremost expert in that field and reading what they read and/or wrote. Identifying great literature is pretty easy. Dead giveaways include Amazon reviews above 4 stars with a significant number of reviews. Internal references to other external high quality material ie. other books, articles or people. Depth and context of the material. These are indicators that you’re reading quality non-fiction.
